Riftwalker 3.0 Mage Build (Warhammer Chaosbane)

Riftwalker 3.0

This is the second rework (3.0) of my Riftwalker (Bel-Korhadris/Loremaster Set) mage build for Warhammer: Chaosbane. This build is a 3-in-1 combo that includes three sets of god skills and skills that require stacking different rolls & blessings in your items. One version is recommended for when you need more energy sustain, the second is for more DoT, dmg & dmg to champions, while the third is a Counter-spell passive + Counter-Attack stat stacking combo. For the first two version you could either go all items blessed for damage over time or mix in some flat damage ones. For the Counter-spell setup you can experiment with all blessed for Counter-Attack or mix in some flat damage blessed gear.

NOTE: All setups would require the God Skills DLC and the Tomb Kings DLC but you can modify the first one slightly by removing Arcane Manifestation and remove Hero of the Desert for all 3 if you don’t own the DLC(s).

Here is the build video on YouTube:

The gear I recommend using is:

  • the Bel-Korhadris (Loremaster) set as armor
  • Blade of Azyre – a main dmg source ( can use a Soulfire if using Phoenix Herald+ superior Phantom Blade combo)
  • Relentless Sentinel – amazing for survivability (can use a Phoenix Herald if using Soulfire + superior Phantom Blade combo)
  • Phase Shift Amulet – the best in slot because of the dmg + dmg reduction (another good choice is the Amulet of Purifying Flame)
  • Ring of Hotek fits well due to the energy and hp regen (or other of your choice with good rolls)
  • Crystaline Ring is nice to give us more hp and increased healing (or other of your choice with good rolls)

The recommended stats to look for in each item are:

  • Cooldown Reduction (high priority)
  • Counter-Attack Damage (high priority if using Counter-Spell)

The Skills and Passives I recommend are:

Setup 1: For more energy sustain

  • Phantom Blade Heroic (energy + dmg source)
  • Breath of Fire basic (to heal when using it or other basic energy spender of your choice)
  • Arcane Manifestation basic (burns + does a bit of dmg)
  • Blinding Light Mastered (for HP regen + knockback)
  • Step Between Worlds Heroic (main dmg source)
  • Aetheric Vortex Mastered (or Superior for damage reduction)
  • Quaysh Shield Mastered (heals when consuming energy + gives unknown dmg reduction)
  • Quaysh Mastery Superior (for the dmg + energy gain or basic one just for the dmg)
  • Arcane Binding Mastered (30% fire/magic dmg)
  • Master of Equilibrium Superior (consuming energy can reduce our cooldowns and using cooldown skills grants us energy) [replace it if you don’t think you need it]
  • Arcane Secrets Superior (burning enemies take 30% more magical dmg)
  • Hero of the Desert (a bit of everything)

Setup 2: For more DMG + DoT + DMG to champions

  • Master of Equilibrium Superior (consuming energy can reduce our cooldowns and using cooldown skills grants us energy) [replace it if you don’t think you need it]
  • Arcane Secrets Mastered (burning enemies take 40% more magical dmg)
  • Hero of the Desert (a bit of everything)

Setup 3: When using the Counter-Spell combo

  • Phantom Blade Heroic (energy + dmg source)
  • Breath of Fire basic (to heal when using it or other basic energy spender of your choice)
  • Arcane Manifestation Superior (for the dmg reduction + it also does a bit of dmg OR use the basic)
  • Blinding Light Mastered (for HP regen + knockback)
  • Step Between Worlds Heroic (main dmg source)
  • Aetheric Vortex Mastered (or Superior for damage reduction)
  • Quaysh Shield Mastered (heals when consuming energy)
  • Quaysh Mastery basic (just for the dmg)
  • Arcane Binding Mastered (30% fire/magic dmg)
  • Master of Equilibrium Superior (consuming energy can reduce our cooldowns and using cooldown skills grants us energy) [replace it if you don’t think you need it]
  • Counter-Spell Mastered (decent dmg from here when stacking Counter-Attack)
  • Hero of the Desert (a bit of everything)

The God Skill Tree has two versions:

Version 1 For more energy sustain:

Version 2 For more DMG + DoT + DMG to champions:

Version 3 When using the Counter-Spell combo:

  1. Hello. Great builds 🙂 I’m fairly new to Chaosbane but i’m a bit confused as to what are Heroic Skills. What are they? do they exist? What do you have to do to get them Heroic?

    1. Thanks for the comment! I hope you enjoy Chaosbane 🙂 As for what “Heroic” skills are: they are the special “set bonus” versions of certain skills. Each class has multiple sets that boost either a specific active or passive skill to “heroic” allowing you to equip said skill at a 0 cost and with either a stronger version in terms of dmg or an improved mechanic of said “Heroic” skill (when compared to basic, superior or mastered version of the same skill).

I hope this makes it clear enough.
