Pistolier’s Herald Soldier Build (Warhammer: Chaosbane)

Pistolier’s Herald 2.0

This build is the first (2.0) update to my Pistolier’s Herald Soldier Build for Konrad Vollen. The build is a long to mid range centric one and includes a lot of dmg  as well as block chance stacking. It allows us to burst our enemies and do more damage while they are faraway from us (from Medal of Destiny) and when they come closer the archetype Shield Smash can do some okay dmg as well (from Pavise of Anger). Alternatively we could use the Thrice-Blessed Copper Medal (heals 20% HP when using god skills) + Sigmar’s Bastion and its pew-pew-pew beams combo to heal up but do less dmg. It’s good for and recommended to play it up to Chaos 8 but can also do Chaos 9 with more dmg reduction stacking. It’s good for both solo and group play.

NOTE: The build requires the God Skills DLC & the Tomb Kings DLC but you can remove Hero of the Desert & only own the God Skills DLC.

The gear I recommend using is:

  • the Vrrmik Set (Skaven Killer) that boosts the Shield Smash range and gives us +100% dmg vs slowed targets
  • a “Grudge Settler”, the Runefang of Solland Sword (it gives 100% dmg vs taunted targets)
  • a Pavise of Anger  that gives +400% dmg to Shield Smash or any shield with good rolls
  • Thrice-Blessed Copper Medal (heals 20% HP when using god skills) or
  • Purple Signet Ring give +50% dmg and -2 sec cooldown times when we pick up a bloodlust orb (or other of your choice with good rolls such as Ring of Resurgence OR of Fortification)
  • Signet Ring of Null helps regenerate some hp and energy when we crit (or other of your choice with good rolls such as Ring of Resurgence OR of Fortification)

The recommended stats to look for in each item are:

For the Helmet:

  • Cooldown Reduction (highest priority)
  • HP (high priority)
  • Armor (high priority)
  • Cost Reduction (mid)
  • Health regen (mid)
  • Resistance to DoT (mid)

For the Chest & Leg Armor:

  • HP (high priority)
  • Armor (high priority)
  • Cost Reduction (mid)
  • Health regen (mid)
  • Resistance to DoT (mid)

For the Boots:

  • HP (high priority)
  • Armor (high priority)
  • Movement Speed (mid priority)
  • Cost Reduction (mid)
  • Health regen (mid)
  • Resistance to DoT (mid)

For the Gloves:

  • Damage (highest priority)
  • HP (high priority)
  • Armor (high/mid priority)
  • Crit DMG (high/mid priority)
  • Cost Reduction (low)
  • Health regen (low)
  • Resistance to DoT (low)

For the Shield:

  • Crit Chance (highest priority)
  • Damage (high priority)
  • Cooldown Reduction (high priority)
  • HP (high priority)
  • Block Chance (high)
  • Blocked DMG (high)
  • Crit DMG (high/mid)
  • Armor Piercing (high/mid priority)
  • Health Drain (mid)

For the Sword:

  • Damage (highest priority)
  • Cooldown Reduction (high priority)

  • Armor Piercing (high/mid priority)
  • Health Drain (mid)

For the Amulet & Rings:

  • Crit Chance (highest priority)
  • Damage (high priority)
  • Cooldown Reduction (high priority)

  • Armor Piercing (mid)
  • Crit DMG (mid)
  • Health Drain (mid)
  • Cost Reduction (mid)
  • Armor (only rolls on amulets- mid/high priority)

The Skills and Passives I recommend are:

 

 

Setup 1:  Standard Version (for God Skills 1)

 

 

 

  • Defensive Strike basic/superior OR any energy generator basic (it’s a filler slot so might even keep it empty)
  • Pistolier Heroic (main dps source)
  • Sigmar’s Blessing basic (buffs for dmg, block chance, and energy regen)
  • Banner of the Empire Superior [or the other banner superior] (for dmg or dmg reduction)
  • Taunt  superior (block chance + energy gain)
  • Sigmar’s Bastion Mastered (crit chance & crit dmg buffs + dmg when spamming it + immunity to control effects) [if using Thrice Blessed Copper Medal it procs the medal’s heals when spamming the beams]
  • Herald of the Empire Mastered (20% dmg or 20% dmg reduction buff based on what banner we are using)
  • Blessing of the Brave Mastered (gain crit chance & crit dmg based on block chance & block dmg but loose 50% of both)
  • Veteran’s Chain Reaction (using a cooldown skill makes our next energy cost skill [i.e. Pistolier] do +100% dmg and cost less)
  • Indestructible Mastered (+20% block chance and gets bonus dmg based on block chance)
  • Hero of the Desert (a bit of everything)
  • Duelist’s Chain Reaction (up to 400% crit  dmg which is 4 stacks of 100%)

 

 

Setup 2:  Majestic Aura Version (for God Skills 2)

 

 

 

  • Defensive Strike basic/superior OR any energy generator basic (it’s a filler slot so might even keep it empty)
  • Justice of the Empire Heroic (main dps source)
  • Sigmar’s Blessing basic (buffs for dmg, block chance, and energy regen)
  • Banner of the Empire Superior [or the other banner superior] (for dmg or dmg reduction)
  • Sigmar’s Herald basic (aoe aura that taunts enemies, pulses to do dmg & also makes enemies take 30% more dmg)
  • Sigmar’s Bastion Superior (crit chance buff + 20% dmg reduction + dmg when spamming it + immunity to control effects) [if using Thrice Blessed Copper Medal it procs the medal’s heals when spamming the beams]
  • Majestic Aura Mastered (all players get 20% dmg & 10% dmg reduction) [this needs a buff/rebalance to be equal to Divine Judgement]
  • Blessing of the Brave Superior (gain crit chance & crit dmg based on block chance & block dmg but loose 50% of both)
  • Veteran’s Chain Reaction (using a cooldown skill makes our next energy cost skill [i.e. Pistolier] do +100% dmg and cost less)
  • Indestructible Mastered (+20% block chance and gets bonus dmg based on block chance)
  • Hero of the Desert (a bit of everything)
  • Duelist’s Chain Reaction (up to 400% crit  dmg which is 4 stacks of 100%)

 

 

Setup 3:  Padded Armour version (for God Skills 1)

    • Banner of the Empire Superior [or the other banner superior] (for dmg or dmg reduction)
    • Taunt  Mastered (dmg buff + block chance buff + energy gain)
    • Sigmar’s Bastion Mastered (crit chance & crit dmg buffs + dmg when spamming it + immunity to control effects)  [if using Thrice Blessed Copper Medal it procs the medal’s heals when spamming the beams]
    • Padded Armour (good dmg reduction but can be swapped out for other)
    • Blessing of the Brave Mastered (gain crit chance & crit dmg based on block chance & block dmg but loose 50% of both)
    • Veteran’s Chain Reaction (using a cooldown skill makes our next energy cost skill [i.e. Pistolier] do +100% dmg and cost less)
    • Indestructible Mastered (+20% block chance and gets bonus dmg based on block chance)
