Burning Bullets
This build is recommended for up to Chaos 8 speed running. It lacks the defensive stats to do Chaos 9 or higher reasonably quick. The build uses the Blessed Flames set and utilizes the Heroic Version of Extirpate (Jurgen’s mobility skill). The blessings I used were the fully linked Red + Green gems (2 Green 4 Red or 3 Green 3 Red or 4 Green 2 Red) depending on whether one needs more HP or DMG. NOTE: The build requires owning the Witch Hunter DLC, the God Skills DLC & the Tomb Kings DLC (if you decide to use Hero of the Desert). The Season’s Pass includes all DLCs until Tomb Kings (so the Witch Hunter is not included). The pass is also included in the Magnus Edition.

The gear I recommend using is :
- the Blessed Flames set as armor
- a Barbed Irons Blade – decent dps boost + some hp regen OR Crusader’s Flame when it gets fixed
- a Debt of Flame gives us +100% dmg + a stacking 10% per stack DoT boost and -1% cooldown time per Stack for each burning enemy nearby (up to 20 stacks). Also dealing fire damage has a chance to trigger explosions.
- Any of those 2 Amulets – Thrice Blessed Copper Medal or Pure Soul Medal to either heal 20% hp when using god skills or get 50% dmg bonus to the god skills we use.
- Signet Ring of Resurgence to give us extra healing and HP. Good choice would also be a Purple Signer Ring or a Signet Ring of Fortification.
- Signet Ring of Null – to helps us get energy and a bit of healing when we crit

The Skills and Passives I recommend are:
Setup 1: When using the Blessed Flames Set
- Any basic skill (Pierce, Persecute, Castigate) – I don’t really use it and it costs 0 points so might as well try and squeeze an extra cooldown skill (Cast Iron) there and use Duelist’s Chain Reaction instead of Hero of the Desert
- Martyr (Basic)- it’s a cooldown skill that can grant a bit of dmg reduction as well as proc things like Duelist’s Chain Reaction
- Condemn (Mastered) – Slows and makes enemies take +20% more dmg for 8 sec. Condemned enemies that die restore +5% hp and +5 energy
- Sacred Sigil (Mastered) – places a trap that triggers when enemies approach it to do massive dmg. Enemies hit do -50% dmg and take +50% more dmg for 6 seconds. Successful attacks against the debuffed enemies restore +3 energy and +X health (the game does not say how much HP is restored)
- Extirpate (Heroic) – the builds’ bread and butter. It’s mobility and damage in one package. While in a ranged stance shoots even more bullets around you so I advise using it in that stance and switching to melee when you need faster cooldown for your god skills and cooldown skills
- Mass Purification (Basic) – does an AoE wave of fire dmg. Enemies under 10% hp are killed instantly.
- Holy Immolation (Basic) – Fire dmg deals +30% extra dmg to burning enemies
- Hunter’s Focus (Mastered) – Give us up to 15% dmg reduction and based on what stance either -20% energy cost but also 20% longer cooldowns (in ranged stance) or +20% energy cost but also 20% faster cooldowns (in melee stance).
- Purified Powder (Superior) – Ranged attacks do +20% dmg, +10% Armor Piercing and grant us +10% bonus dmg for 3 seconds
- Branding Iron (Superior) – All traps deal extra fire damage – a flat number that becomes higher as our own dmg gets higher
- Hero of the Desert – gives a bit of most stats – dmg, dmg reduction, hp, crit dmg, movement speed, energy, counter attack dmg /consider using Duelist’s Chain Reaction here and reworking the other skills with the extra points/
- Inculcation – Icons of Sigmar grant +2 more energy, have extra +20% chance to appear & give us +5% dmg per nearby Icon of Sigmar
Legendary Ranks
My advice for every builds is: is start with Legendary Reinforcement and eventually based on whether you need dmg reduction or dmg start investing into either Legendary Endurance or Legendary Punishment. Eventually, get Legendary Crushing for more dmg reduction if really needed.
The God Skill Tree has one version that uses both God Skill Trees:
Thank you, really helpful.
Glad you think so and thanks for reading/watching my content.
Which skills do you recommend for leveling a Witch Hunter?
Thanks for all of your guides, very helpful for endgame!
Well i’d definitely use the mobility skill of each hero when leveling that one as for anything else i’d say it’s not that important but i noticed melee stance on all almost all skills being stronger especially while leveling. I also thing the god skills trap or pyre are not bad options too. You most likely won’t levelup on a difficulty higher than very hard so anything should be fine, just make sure to upgrade your gear with blessings every now and then (every few levels) with hp + dmg (red + green linked gems) the blessing is going to make leveling much quicker and easier. Use any skill you like but every few levels bless some items is my advice.
The torch with damage burn is absolutely broken swear I got the same build but I use torch it’s pretty superior special when I destroying bosses in seconds flat torch plus dmg over time build is broken
I have a torch build with this set on my website and channel and yeah the torch is good but it still isn’t enough to push the dmg to reasonable numbers for chaos 9 or 10. The Witch Hunter is sadly the most under powered and chaos 8 is where it ends for it. I’ve done builds where i manage to somehow survive bu then the dmg is not that great or i do dmg but it’s a 1 shot fest. Thankfully we can get good gear on the lower difficulties so i just imagine chaos 8 is the final difficulty when i play WH 🙂
Loved the Build, but i am playing the game on the ps4, but I was wondering has the weapon crusador flames being fixed already?
Unfortunately, It still doesn’t work as there has been no patch (at least on steam) since the witch hunter DLC came in December. Hopefully, it doesn’t take them as long to update as last time and i hope they fix Keela’s broken pistol (Forgeblood) that has been broken since the Engineer hero was added 7 months ago. I feel like this game really needs a place where we can report bugs like a Nolt the same way Torchlight 3 has one. I kind of suspect that the devs just don’t know about many of the bugs for months until they stumble upon them themselves.
I going mad overbite lol, got the gun debt by flame when I was lv 38, but now I just can’t get her the only item missing in the build lol, the rest is already green lol
🙂 RNG can be very fickle at times. Maybe if a red one drops before a green one it’s still worth using compared to some other green ones, unless the damage difference is too big to ignore. GL with the drops!
When I first tried the game , I thought wtf is this…then gradually I started to enjoy the game. not the laughable “story” or the abysmal level design. but this game does have a charm to it. now i like this game more than grim dawn. all heroes past level 50 and legendary 470. still i find grinding for that perfect items. and your guides are super useful. however i easily die in tower of chaos solo runs with chaos 5 or more past level 20. i went to level 70 chaos 3 with mage and the axe dwarf but higher chaos solo runs are frustrating as i get one shotted by those exploding sacks of shit enemies and those blue circle bad guys. what is your best build for tower of chaos safe runs with chaos 5 and up. it is frustrating because you can’t revive and all the effort is lost once you die in tower mode.
Well I don’t really like that the tower of chaos is true endless unlike Crucible in GD. And I don’t think it’s worth my time to do ToC apart from just testing how far one can go. I rarely go past level 1-2 on chaos 8-9 to be honest. I do floor 1-2 then i collect and use the coins from the chests to run upgraded relic hunts (which is where the best farming is due to triple chests and super high loot quality). If you want a more tanky build you could try an Ulthuan’s Bunker 2.0 setup, maybe with the counter-spell version to get more dmg reduction, or you can try Holy Justice 3.0 on Konrad but that one requires a lot of nearby enemies to sustain the dmg.
How did you get the third level of Extirpate to coat 0 skill points? New to the game and just hit legendary ranks.
Cost*
Never mind. Just watched the video lol.
Sorry for noticing this comment too late. All Red/Green sets provide heroic versions of an active or a passive skill. This heroic version costs 0 to slot into your loadout. For now each hero has 4 sets and only 1 of those per hero gives a passive heroic while the rest give an active heroic skill.
