This build is a complete lvl 60 setup and is UP-TO-DATE with the new relic subclass rework. The subclass used is Electrode. It’s a build that can dish out some serious damage when our energy is full via the combination of max lvl Chaotic Strikes + Egg of Mayhem + Thousand-volt Burst + Localized Storm. If we lead with a combo of slowing (via using Spike Drive) + a Blasting Charge to apply vulnerability that increases the damage we do to the slowed + vulnerable enemies by a total of +95% dmg. On top of this I’ve included Flying Picks to help us keep procing Thunder Strikes with the high amount of hits per second Flying Picks‘ summons can do. Skittering Shoulders (even without a set bonus) is a great source of survivability so it is the best Legendary in slot for now but a blue will be better if you don’t need that buff. 

October 29th Edit: Please consider putting ASAP at least 1 point into the Tingling Sensation passive for the + 3.0 seconds shock duration. Regardless of which skills setup from the ones I’ve suggested at the bottom of this page/build you pick.

September 17th EDIT: I’ve updated the skill points allocation screenshots to include the extra 10 points (total of 70) that the new update added.

September 7th EDIT: Electrode‘s Shocking Display passive and all other passives like this will no longer give any DMG bonus to the relic’s element (i.e. Electric for Electrode). I’d say keep the skill leveled if you like the proc effect, and Shocking Display actually has a decent bonus even after the changes. Otherwise  it would be best to spend those points elsewhere.

August 11th 2020 EDIT: Keep in mind that every relic has an amazing passive that gives it +5% or +10% of the corresponding damage per level (total of 25% or 50%). This passive is AMAZING. For Electrode this is Shocking Display. I believe those passives to be a MUST-HAVE on Bane, Electrode, and Blood Drinker. This is getting rebalanced to be +25% dmg across all relics just like on Cold Heart and Flaming Destroyer, It’s still a good dmg increase if you stack that elemental dmg via flat and % dmg rolls in gear.

The skills I use:

  • Chaotic Strikes – major source of dps for a cheap energy cost. At Tier 3 this costs only 12,5 energy (excluding any cost reduction from gear). Combined with an Egg of Mayhem this = UBER DPS 🙂
  • Pound – a good source of damage + the Tier 1 bonus gives it stun chance which helps with getting the bonus dmg from Lantern Flash Tier 2. Pound Tier 2 gives all our Slammer skills +20% dmg as well.
  • Hammer Spin – our escape mechanic and a movement skill. We also get 50% movement speed on Tier 1 for 6 sec. & on Tier 3 we get 50% dmg reduction buff for 6 sec after using it.
  • Lantern Flash – burns + blinds for 1 sec so you can do more dmg + has an amazing Tier 2 passive bonus
  • Spike Drive – good damage + applies a 6 sec. slow so you can do even more damage.
  • Blasting Charge – applies Vulnerability to the enemies to make them take more damage. Also does okay damage, especially when you have a Blast Breaker in the Legendarium so it won’t use up your endurance. The Tier 2 gives us 20% dmg reduction in melee.
  • Localized Storm – It’s a great bit of Extra DPS to nearby enemies. This one keeps draining our energy.
  • Thousand-volt Burst – Our BIG relic skill that we can active after spending a total of 200 energy with other skills like Chaotic Strikes. It’s good to save and use this on champions & bosses.
  • Flying Picks – a extra DPS source + the summons help with procing Thunder Strike more often.

The gear I recommend using is:

MY IDEAL EQUIPPED GEAR:

  • A good rolled + socketed 2 handed blue weapon (OR a version with 1 hand + shield/focus
    with good rolls and sockets)
  • Must wear 3 Cosmic pieces! I suggest wearing:
    Cosmic Breastplate + Pauldrons + Leg Armor + optionally replace Cosmic Legs for Cosmic Helmet (if spending points on Flamethrower Car):

    • Cosmic Pants – when you use Chaotic Strike: 50% chance to regenerate all Endurance
    • Cosmic Chest gives +1 Slammer Skills (+2 with the 3 piece set bonus) [I’ve tested it and it won’t give you extra levels if the skill is already lvl 10 so go for lvl 9 if you have +1 or 8 if you have +2 to those skills]
    • Cosmic Shoulders – when you cast Thousand-volt Burst: spawns an Enchanted Railhammer (a floating railhammer that follows you around and attacks enemies)
    • OPTIONALLY instead of pants: Cosmic Helm gives +1 Conductor  Skills (+2 with the 3 piece set bonus) [I’ve tested it and it won’t give you extra levels if the skill is already lvl 10 so go for lvl 9 if you have +1 or 8 if you have +2 to those skills]
  • The rest will preferably be good rolled + socketed Blue (rare) items

On all blue items, you’ll be looking for flat dmg, %dmg and/or Crit dmg & Crit Chance along with other good rolls. In the case of the Helmet, some of the suggested skill setups will require + 1 Skill Level to any skill that you have spent more than 1 point into.

Blue Gear only gets 1 socket now.

Suggested Legendarium Powers (to fill in the gaps from items you’re wearing):

MY IDEAL LEGENDARIUM COMBO:

  • Egg of Mayhem – boost our Chaotic Strikes Skill to cast another second random Relic Attack along with it. It can proc Spinning Blade, Venomous Maw, Frost Blast, Sword Smash.
  • Blast BreakerBlasting Charge always gain its Endurance Bonus and does not spend Endurance
  • Stinging Wing (when using Flying Picks) – Flying Picks gains 50% increased initial weapon damage, recharges twice as fast, and applies Poisoned instead of Bleeding.

For the 3rd slot two suggestions to replace the Stinging Wing if it’s not needed:

  • Option 1 Centrifugal DemolisherHammer Spin deals 25% more dmg, gains 1 more charge, and has a 25% lower cooldown.
  • Option 2: Berserk Crusher Spike Drive & Pound gain an additional Charge

The recommended stats to look for in your items are (the list is not in order of priority and is just listing good bonuses + there’s new stats and I might have missed some which will get added later):

  • + Flat Damage
  • +% Elemental Damage (gets good later when you have a good flat base and stack more of this % affix across multiple items)
  • +% Damage to Slammer skills
  • +% Damage to Chaotic Strikes/Thousand-Volt Burst/Localized Storm (and any of the other relic skills we use) – The Chaotic Strikes dmg bonus should be VERY high on your priority list!
  • + Health
  • + Defense (the non elemental is good for any act but lesser numbers than elemental)
  • +% Critical Hit Chance
  • +% Critical Damage (the cap is 300%)
  • +% Gear Luck (eventually try to get like 50-75% total for good drop quantity – the cap is 100%)
  • +% Energy Recharge Rate
  • -% Relic Energy cost
  • +% Relic Active Skill Damage
  • +% Block Chance
  • +% Chance to Evade damage
  • +% Endurance Regen
  • +% Chance to Chill – a decent CC proc that works well with this build
  • +% Chance to Shock – a decent proc and is VERY nice for this build
  • +% Additional Bolts Fired on Shock – a decent proc and also VERY nice for this build
  • +% Chance to Poison is a decent DoT and stacks with other DoTs
  • +% Chance to Bleed and/or Burn to stack the poison with the other DoTs
  • + % Chance to Stun/Slow/Blind – extremely good choice when not using Spike Drive. When using the skill, it’s still good but not as needed.

The Skills and Passives I recommend are:

IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that my setup + all other alternative examples are WITH the
+2 Slammer skill lvls form the Cosmic Breastplate & an extra +1 level to a random skill that we use! Without that +1 extra skill level bonus (that can roll as an affix on a helmet), we won’t be able to get all relic passives used to lvl 5 and one will be lvl 4.

The numbers in YELLOW represent the suggested skill levels after the new update. In some cases you may need to remove point from one skill to get another one leveled.

IF USING THE CONDUCTOR HELMET DON’T SPEND TOO MANY POINTS ON FLAMETHROWER CAR. KEEP IT AT LVL6 (INCLUDING THE BONUS POINTS)!
